DAXXIFY® is FDA-approved to smooth moderate to severe lines between the brows. It is the only long-lasting frown line treatment powered by a peptide with results that last on average 6 months and up to 9 months for some.* It can be 4 months for patients who hold Botox results for only two months.

Botox is an injectable prescription medication containing a protein purified from the Clostridium botulinum bacteria. While this bacteria is considered a toxin, it can also provide benefits, including reducing fine facial lines, when used properly. Once injected into specific areas of your face, such as around your eyes or forehead, Botox temporarily relaxes the muscle, leading to less movement and fewer visible lines.
The most common areas treated are the upper third of the face including the forehead, frown lines (glabella) and the crows feet. Other cosmetic treatments are non-surgical Endo browlift, chin creepiness, gummy smile, lip lines, marionette lines, neck bands, masséter muscle and excessive sweating.
The effects of botulinum toxin, Botox, Dysport and XEOMIN last an average of 3-4months and are confined to the injected region; it does not travel throughout the body. Botulinum toxin is safe if used properly.

Xeomin and Dysport are also injectable medications derived from Clostridium botulinum used to minimize wrinkles. While they work the same way as Botox, each brand contains a slightly different formula. In some cases, one may work better than the others to bring your desired results, and some doctors use them interchangeably. Dr. Manrique can help to determine which medication is ideal for you.
It targets one of the underlying causes of frown lines and crow’s feet: the repeated muscle contractions from frowning and squinting over the years. We inject these muscles with Botulinum toxin to temporarily reduce muscle activity. You will begin to notice a visible smoothing of your crow’s feet lines and frown lines between your brows.
You should not lose the ability to show expression when you are treated by someone who is licensed, trained, and a medical expert in facial anatomy as Dr. Manrique.
Some patients report it feels like a pinch. Dr. Manrique may use ice to numb the treatment area. If you are concerned about discomfort, Dr. Manrique may apply a topical numbing cream before administering your treatment.
Dr. Manrique will discuss your treatment goals and perform a facial analysis to determine the appropriate treatments for you. It is very important to perform this facial analysis with a highly trained physician to obtain the best result. The actual injection process takes about 10 minutes.
You may begin to notice results within 24 to 48 hours for moderate to severe frown lines, with results lasting up to 6 months. Average results last 4 months.
The most common side effects include redness, swelling, and bruising around the injection sites; however, these should be temporary effects that disappear within a few days.
Because Botox is a minimally invasive and quick treatment, no downtime is needed for recovery. While you can get straight back to your usual activities, Dr. Manrique recommends avoiding lying down or exercising intensely immediately after treatment. To keep Botox from moving to an unwanted area, don’t rub or massage your face for 24 hours after treatment. Avoiding alcohol and blood-thinning medications, such as aspirin and ibuprofen, shortly before and after treatment may help prevent bruising.
